Images Provide SEO Traffic

You may not realize this, but images can generate a TON of traffic from image-based search engines (G Blurbpoint ask an seo expert oogle Images for example).

If you want more of this traffic, you must learn how to optimize your images to score some of this traffic.

Your first step should be to set up a Google Account where you can use Webmaster Tools.Inside the
Webmaster tools you will find an option under Tools named ”Enable enhanced image search”.When this option is enabled Google will start cataloging your images for placement in the search engine results for images which can increase your traffic, especially if you can show in the search results that show images above the organic search results.

After you have instructed Google to look for your images, you want to be sure your images are telling Google and the other search engines exactly what they are about. How do you do this? Here are some things to pay attention to and think about when using images.I’ve listed them in order of ”my importance”.

1. Image Size - Larger images tend to rank better. Most image results that show in the top three I have done test searches on have been over 250 pixels in both directions.Bigger images make sense to show first all other things being equal.I would shoot for 280 x 280 to be safe.

2. Image Close to Relevant Text - Keyword above or below the image in the same DIV -or- keyword in the same paragraph as the image, close to the image. Keyword should be in the same <td> (table cell) as the image.

3. Page Title & Page Theme -The title content and image should all be connected.

4. File Name - Before you upload your image, pick a descriptive filename—preferably a file name you want that image to rank for—because it will help with your search engine rankings.

5. Alt Tags - What is image alt text?

The short answer is, it’s the text that the search engine uses to understand images. To include it, you simply add alt="this is your alt text" to your image tag.

Here’s an example: <img src="Blurbpoint-ask-an-seo-expert.jpg" alt="Blurbpoint ask an seo expert" />

6. Image Title Tags - This text shows up when you rollover the image in a popup. They should also describe image. Example:<img src=”Blurbpoint-ask-an-seo-expert.jpg” width=”200” height=”350” alt=”Blurbpoint ask an seo expert” title=”Blurbpoint ask an seo expert”>

Alt/Title for images have been spammed too much (like Meta tags) so I don t think they play much of a factor at all anymore in images search. Please share any successes you may have had with image search or ideas you have tried. I’m especially interested in anyone who has tried an image sitemap or what you think of this idea.

Conclusion

As a content, images need to be cared for their use.The use of an appropriate description would be good not only for users, but also for SEO efforts and efforts to increase traffic. If you spend hours crafting the perfect post, don’t miss out on the chance to optimize your images for maximum search engine benefit.

You should keep following tips in mind while using press release submission

You should keep following tips in mind while using press release submission :-

1-Make your content likeable, Tweetable and Shareable-

2- Make sure you’re sending releases, Not Ads- You’re sending press releases to boost your organization’s visibility

3- Target more Influencers-

4- Don’t just send it Over the Wire- Make sure you also post your release to your company’s newsroom/media room

5- Write better quotes- Use short, but intelligent quotes. Speak as an expert or spokesperson for your industry, without bogging the quote down in too much rhetoric or industry jargon. Smart, pithy or witty beats longwinded every time.

6- Add more Images- Do more than just add your company’s logo. When adding images, think beyond photos and consider adding a product shot, map, headshot of the CEO, a chart or an infograph.

7- Add more video-

8- Write better headlines- Write a short and concise headline to grab the readers’ attention and include your primary keywords to grab the search engines’ attention.

9- Write better lead paragraphs- Like your headline, the lead takes practice. Assume your audience will only read this far. Try to capture the 5 Ws here in 3-5 sentences – the inverted pyramid style of writing that is so familiar to many of us is still relevant in the digital age

10- Make better use of hyperlinks- Smart and strategic hyperlinks add SEO enhancement to your press release, quickly and inexpensively

11- Be more strategic about when you distribute your release- The ideal days and times to send out news are Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. EST

12- Know your audience- Journalists, editors, and bloggers make up your target market. Remember, they have to go through hundreds of emails and filter the relevant from the spam. So write with their attention span, time limits and mandate in mind.

13- Ask yourseif: Who Cares?- A simple and blunt question like this can help prove your content’s relevance. If you can’t clearly answer why anyone outside your organization would care about your release, you may consider changing your angle or messaging. After every paragraph you read, imagine you’re the recipient of the release and ask yourself, “So what?” A good idea is to have a colleague read your draft release –

14- Consider sending abroad or in other languages- Does your company have offices in other countries? Does your competition? If you have customers, stakeholders and potential new business prospects in other parts of the world, it is often worth sending your content to media and influencers in those areas, and in relevant languages where necessary

15- Look at your competition- Don’t mimic what they’re doing or try to directly one-up them. But it’s helpful to see what types of press releases your competition sends. It’s always good to know the verbiage that people in your industry use

Is tiered link building effective?

Primary benefits of this tiered link building structure is that it can build niche relevancy within the link chains, which may improve the overall favour-ability and quality of the top tier link which points to your money site.
The more content each tier has, the greater the opportunity to create this thematic relevancy that you are looking for. Articles are a very easy platform to accomplish this task as they provide hundreds of words that may produce other secondary thematic benefits as well. There's no reason these article tiers can't become a hot niche subject on their own, producing a large and secondary traffic benefit.

Yes.it not completely abnormal for entire tiers worth of niche relevant articles to become very hot points on conversations on blogs and forums. This is especially true in niches that are social in nature to begin with.

The fact is that people like to click on links. There is always hunger for information, or a deeper understanding of the facts presented. Because of that, you can actually create these chains or tiers to act as a funnel to draw people to your money site where you can hopefully monetize that additional traffic.

In a phrase, you can use them as a 'Sales Funnel' if you are so inclined and it makes sense to since you will be promoting each tier with secondary links anyway.

but, KEEP AN EYE ON POINTS BELOW:
1.Be wary of certain forums & blogs that pretend to have a grasp of this link building structure. Not only can their advice hurt your site's ranking, but they don't include any information on secondary uses for building your SEO base with this format.
2. Use each tier-chain as a traffic funnel in addition to a pagerank funnel.
3. Remember that secondary links are not tiers themselves, but merely a way to direct pagerank into your tier-chain and back up to your money site.
4.Building tier-chains longer than three or four tiers may be unnecessary in most cases.

Opinion about Blog Sites

If you're creating a new blog then I would highly recommend the following:

1) Sign up for a Linux/Apache hosting account at GoDaddy, BlueHost, HostGator, or some other reputable hosting company. You can get a shared a hosting account for $5-7 per month.
2) Register a domain name through that same hosting company (you don't have to, but it makes it easier to setup... you don't have to mess with DNS configurations... it will be automatically set up.). It depends on the hosting company, but you can register domains from anywhere between $7 and $15 per YEAR. Very cheap.
3) Install WordPress on your hosting account. It's an awesome blogging platform/CMS. It's free and usually you click one button, answer a few questions, and poof it's up. And there are TONS of online resources and books on WordPress.

This is the minimum that you need to do to get a blog up and running.

If you want it to look professional then I would suggest buying a premium Theme (the "thing" that controls how your site looks) like Thesis from DIYThemes.com or Genesis from Studiopress.com.

I would honestly avoid free blogging solutions like blogger.com or wordpress.com. While the thought of saving $5-10/month might appeal to some, if you are using this blog for anything else other than to host family pictures or communicate with family members about vacations and such... then the $5-10/month you spend on hosting to have your OWN hosting account is very much worth it.

NEVER start a business web site/blog or a web site/blog that might grow into a business (or something you're passionate about) on free hosting. I can almost guarantee that you will regret it for many reasons later. They frequently limit the themes that you can use. They limit advertising you might want to use to monetize your site. And once you're on their platform, it will be hard to move without basically starting over from scratch.

Do yourself a big favor... get your own hosting and buy your own domain...

The Best Way To Build Real Backlinks?

As far as building real backlinks (quality backlinks is probably a better term to use), I would suggest that you try to acquire links that are going to send you referral traffic, not necessarily those that you think will help you rank. The former should almost always result in the latter.

In general, the best way to acquire quality links is to have something on your web site that other webmasters think will be useful to their visitors and that is not found on thousands of other web sites on the Web. This generally means writing great content, building a great resource, or building a great tool.

My process for acquiring such links is:

1) Determine the target audience for my site
2) Figure out where that audience can be found online (which sites)
3) Come up with ideas for content, resources, and/or tools that don't exist on those sites that the webmasters of those sites would find useful for their visitors
4) Build out that content, resource, and/or tools and finally
5) Make the webmasters of those sites where your audience can be found aware that your content, resource, and/or tools exist

And wait on the links to roll in.

That is pretty much the best way to build links now IMO. Links you acquire this way have the best chance of NOT being targeted by Google's algorithm changes. Not only do they boost rankings, but you will end up getting lots of referral traffic from those linking sites if you have chosen your link placements well.

Steer clear of anyone trying to sell you a "package" where they build XXX links per month for $XXX. Most of them are simply spamming blogs with comments (and 99.99% of those links will be NO FOLLOW), spamming forums to get sig links, submitting your site to free directories, and/or submitting duplicate articles to multiple article submission sites... all of which can generally do your site far more harm than good since Penguin and other recent changes at Google.

Anyone building links fast are doing it the wrong way... or at least using very high risk link building techniques likely to be hit by Google's updates eventually. I'd rather spend 80 hours/month to get one or two good link per month than to get hundreds or thousands of low quality links each month.

Simple steps for image optimization

According to me there are six steps for the image optimization :-

1.Use keywords in the image file names.
2.Include keywords in the image alt tag.
3.Optimize the pages containing images.
4.Keep the image near supporting keyword rich content.
5.Limit the number of images per page.
6.Use photo sharing sites.Apply captions and tags.

It was an effective way for sure, but Due to the amount of abuse, like people stuff their website with keywords everywhere, keywords really have very less relevance to the search engines anymore. I would suggest use keywords for your own site's categorization of content. As search engine can't see image, alt tag is for that image for search engine purpose is necessary. Relavent alt tag of image will provide better result.

Image is one way to well communicate with your site visitors but optimization for search engine is really important its not area where one can add many keywords for search engine but its good way to tell about your images. One can add keywords if it require but not number of keywords going to help. You can add another attributes that is title it sound well and seen by your site visitors.
There are few things that you can consider while optimizing image –

Image URL – you may add your keywords
Alt – Its alternate text of image
Title – Effective and well defined title

LinkedIn Congratulatory Email - Brilliant or Brainless?

You may have received or read about the emails that LinkedIn is sending out. To "celebrate" reaching 200 million members, LinkedIn has sent a series of emails out to select members, congratulating them on an achievement and thanking them for helping to build LinkedIn to what it is today.

This morning, I received mine, with LinkedIn congratulating me for being in the top 1% of profiles viewed. I assume the same exact message was sent to me and 2 million other LinkedIn users. I do know that other people have received emails that were somewhat different, so "profile views" was not the only category, and the percentages varied.

If you click the Read More button, you end up on a LinkedIn page with a nice letter from Deep Nishar, Senior Vice President, Products & User Experience. The page includes a pre-written post that you can share to Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook mentioning your new-found fame.

To most observers, this is a simple email marketing campaign, perhaps as a response to recent statistics indicating LinkedIn's monthly activity is not nearly as high as other social networks. Kred issued a similar campaign recently to users who had hit 1%, 5% and 10% levels.

As a marketing technique, I find this interesting. LinkedIn has obviously decided to stroke my ego a little bit, but they're not inherently asking for anything in return. They've provided me with some canned messages for social media which, presumably, would advertise LinkedIn a little bit to those I'm connected to.
So, LinkedIn gets to create a little buzz, generates some immediate activity, and potentially makes some users feel special. Is this a good long-term marketing strategy?

Buzz is obviously very short-term. No one is going to be talking about their "achievement" for long. It's also not the kind of topic that could even potentially expand beyond the initial individual. I dutifully tweeted the message LinkedIn provided, and I'm sure some of my Twitter followers noted it. I have not, however, received any retweets or favorites, and don't expect to. Since there's very little context with this 1% number, why should anyone else care?
Some recipients may have logged into their LinkedIn accounts to consider their profiles and maybe even look at the people who have been looking at their profile. Some people who saw the tweets and Facebook posts from recipients might have logged into LinkedIn to see what's up. But again, once the "buzz" dies down, all that gained activity will have plateaued.

Perhaps most troubling is the idea that LinkedIn was making an effort to stroke my ego. This is a dangerous technique for marketers. If you're not careful, your users will come to expect this special treatment, and then what happens if you stop? This is actually nothing new from LinkedIn. Take a look at your profile and look at the right sidebar. The old profile completeness percentage has been replaced with a graphic that describes your profile. Apparently, I am a LinkedIn All Star, at least according to my profile gauge. i know people personally who are far better and more advanced at LinkedIn than I am, so I honestly question the validity of this label. And again, there's no context. How is this label measured? What exactly makes my profile an All Star?

It seems to me that, while well-intentioned, this is yet another "scheme" from LinkedIn to try and boost their numbers. I would much prefer to spend more time on developing and improving the platform. What do you think? Was this a brilliant marketing move, or just another brainless ploy to increase activity?

Real SEO For Your Company

The first thing we need to discuss in regards to optimizing your website with is "intelligent keyword research". what that means is "what are people typing into Google when they search my category?" There are several great tools out there to find out including Google Ad words Keyword Tool. When you have found out what the keywords are, we need to pick the ones that we think we can rank high for and that are also the best match for what we do. Because if they're not a good match, they will not convert into sales. So you need to get specific about what you want.

The next important phase of quality SEO is deciding whether to use local qualifiers or not. Does your website have what it takes to rank globally? Is it a large site with many pages filled with quality content? Are you ready to implement a true link building strategy? Do you have a tons of time and a healthy budget to accomplish these goals? If not, considering "local qualifiers" might be a good idea. An example of this would be a Charleston, SC CPA firm deciding whether they could rank globally for "cpa", statewide for "South Carolina CPA" or locally for "Charleston CPA". Remember, 91% of all clicks go to page 1 so if we can't make it there, why bother?

Now we'll talk about writing some keyword rich content for the site. There is a density algorithm for keywords, so, too many and you can be penalized for keyword cramming and not enough and you might not reach your ranking potential. So how many is too many of the same phrase? You are probably safe staying around 5% keyword density. So if you have a hundred words on a certain page, you should have no more than 5 keyword phrases. Remember that your content has to read well to humans as well as Google spiders. So, make sure to read it a few times. One rule to remember is: if you wouldn't say it, don't write it.

One of the important elements of search engine algorithms is the amount of links into a website they find, or, "backlinks". The more quality backlinks you have, the better your score. Search engines like Google see these links to your website as a vote of confidence for you site from another. Especially when these links come from websites that are respected in their industries and categories. So, find the websites that will help you rank higher, How do you do this? There are many free "inbound link checkers" so, find out who the high ranking sites in your category are linked to. Start a blog and write quality content daily, comment on other well written blogs in your industry, Sign up with all of the free directories that offer you a listing, and take advantage of the easy free deals like Craigslist, Squidoo, Yahoo Answers, and Wikipedia.

Now, you are ready to evaluate a few SEO firms and find the one that is right for you. Intelligent keyword research - check! Geographical strategy - global or local, check! Well written, keyword rich content, check! Quality backlinks pooring in weekly, check! You have now put your website in a great position to be successful and climb the ranks. Once you hit page 1, your traffic will increase significantly and if people like what they see and hang around for a few minutes, your rankings will continue to improve. Remember to always check your Google analytic and monitor your traffic and adjust keywords as needed. Enjoy the new traffic and leads.

The most successful written content is created up of plenty of brief paragraphs, and are typically composed in everyday language, that indicates not using any complicated key phrases that your visitor will not be familiar with. Powerful titles are important in articles - they ought to be brief and efficient.

The Meat of Your Article

Be certain to utilize keyword phrases one time in the beginning of your article, quite a few times in the principal body of the content (based on the word count) and right after that yet another time inside the last sentence. The purpose of rewriting them is so that every single article is distinct towards the article directory you submit it to. Google will, only index one version of an article and disregard the any further copies.

Why You Need To Have A Good SEO Manchester Firm

Following the growing changes in business trends over the past decades, the internet platform has become instrumental in business. In light of the new developments, it has become relatively important to have every website optimized to meet its objective. This is where the role of a good SEO Manchester firm becomes important.

While the website designers will take all the time to come up with a wonderful site, whether or not the page receives any visitors may be an entirely different matter. Unlike the shopping mall where everyone drives in with an obvious intention, websites are different because they could attract all visitors without choosing on the right ones.

The number of visitors a website receives will have a direct influence on its success or failure. There may also be another problem that many website owners experience. This is the problems associated with receiving lots of visitors who add no value to your business.

There are many reasons why this happens but the main reason is associated to lack of proper search engine optimization. This will mean that many people landing on site are mostly looking for other things and not whatever you have to offer. In such a case, you need to find out what the tags are that lead them to your page.

Assuming there are many other websites with similar objectives online, the quest for the right traffic will then go beyond the kind of content or information posted on site. A good business offering the best services or products may not thrive simply due to its inability to attract the right clients who will make the difference.

The above study should be helpful in streamlining a website to help it get the best results. Once a reliable team analyzes and understands what your targeted clients are typing when looking for the kind of products or services your site deals in, a good SEO Manchester firm will be able to optimize it for maximum benefits.
