Simple steps for image optimization

According to me there are six steps for the image optimization :- 

1.Use keywords in the image file names.

2.Include keywords in the image alt tag.

3.Optimize the pages containing images.

4.Keep the image near supporting keyword rich content.

5.Limit the number of images per page.

6.Use photo sharing sites.Apply captions and tags. 

It was an effective way for sure, but Due to the amount of abuse, like people stuff their website with keywords everywhere, keywords really have very less relevance to the search engines anymore. I would suggest use keywords for your own site's categorization of content.As search engine can't see image, alt tag is for that image for search engine purpose is necessary. Relavent alt tag of image will provide better result.

Image is one way to well communicate with your site visitors but optimization for search engine is really important its not area where one can add many keywords for search engine but its good way to tell about your images. One can add keywords if it require but not number of keywords going to help. You can add another attributes that is title it sound well and seen by your site visitors.
There are few things that you can consider while optimizing image –

Image URL – you may add your keywords
Alt – Its alternate text of image
Title – Effective and well defined title
